Caroline McGinlay

Caroline moved to Arran in September 2017 and lives in Lamlash with her wife and son. With a Bachelor of Music from Glasgow University, a Certificate in Teaching from ABRSM, along with a postgraduate Diploma in Social Work, her career over the last 20+ years has encompassed a range of experiences in music, teaching and social work related fields. As well as a ten year period of service in the Territorial Army, Caroline practiced as a social worker in Easterhouse and Paisley in both children and adult social work, and has worked with Alzheimer Scotland as a Dementia Advisor amongst other roles. She is currently employed as a Support Officer (managing and supporting volunteers and older guests) with Contact the Elderly, a national charity focused on addressing isolation and loneliness in older people through monthly tea parties. She was drawn to the Initiative with its environmental and social focus and is keen to assist further those aims and objectives, particularly in relation to the reduction of isolation and improving health across all ages.
